Amanda Schweng has over 15 years of experience as a Registered nurse. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Christian University and a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is currently enrolled at Texas A&M—Corpus Christi in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program, with a planned graduation date of December 2024. She is a Certified Emergency Nurse, a TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer, and a Six Sigma Lean Green Belt. Amanda oversees regulatory, quality, and safety for Behavioral Health at a large, academic Level 1 trauma center. The Behavioral Health department includes 136 inpatient psychiatric beds, a psychiatric emergency department with nearly 20,000 visits annually, and six outpatient clinics with Partial Hospitalization Program and Intensive Outpatient Program.
