About Dr. Lori Brodie, DNP, PhD Psy, APRN, PMHNP-BC, APRN, CNE
Longer Bio – 1st person: I am the Director of Compassionate Care Integration and an Assistant Professor at Galen College of Nursing. I have a diverse employment background, including psychiatric and neurological nursing in the inpatient and outpatient environments, advanced practice mental health nursing (lifespan), teaching undergraduate and graduate level nursing courses, extensive curriculum design and development, working as a Senior Management Analyst and Program Manager in the Air Traffic Technical Training Organization with the Federal Aviation Administration, and conducting investigative and surveillance work for the Department of Justice. I have a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from George Mason University, a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of North Florida, a Master of Science degree in psychology from Capella University, and a Master of Science degree in nursing education from Aspen University. I have a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Aspen University, a PhD in Psychology from Capella University, and a post-masters Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certificate from Wilkes University. I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurse Credentialing Center. I am also a National League for Nursing Certified Nurse Educator. Volunteer efforts include recently completing my term on the board of directors for a local mental health non-profit. I currently serve on the advisory board for a newly formed organization for nurses with disabilities.
Short bio 3rd person: Dr. Brodie is the Director of Compassionate Care Integration and has been with Galen for seven years. Dr. Brodie has experience teaching in the Arts and Sciences, prelicensure, and post licensure (MSN and DNP) programs. Dr. Brodie is also a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Her educational background includes a DNP with a focus on Leadership and Education and a PhD in Psychology, a certified nurse educator, and am a certified personal trainer and health coach. Dr. Brodie resides on Amelia Island in Florida with her husband who is a retired submariner after serving 30 years in the US Navy. They have two sons, two daughters in law, and four grandchildren. Dr. Brodie is a fitness enthusiast and loves the beach!
