About Jasmine M. Renamé, MA

Jasmine M. Rename is a first-generation Caribbean-American who recently earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University, concentrating on global mental health, child and family dynamics, neuroscience, and pharmacology, particularly concerning underrepresented groups, including her own community. She serves as the COO of KOLO Publishing, a Black womxn-led company that showcases diverse creative writing across various genres, while also fulfilling the role of Research Assistant in two laboratories located in New York City. Additionally, she has worked as a Teaching Assistant at both NYU and Columbia, enriching her academic experience and engagement with students. With a background in communications, journalism, and psychology, Jasmine has developed strong skills in corporate leadership, effective communication, and multitasking. She has managed interns, initiated research projects on brand building and marketing strategies, and collaborated with senior leadership on event planning and partnership development at KOLO Publishing, Tarte Cosmetics, and within research labs in NYC. Her independent research focuses on appealing to Generation Z and women of color in the beauty, literary, and healthcare sectors, as well as cultural psycho-educational modalities. Passionate about hands-on engagement, Jasmine is observant and meticulous, dedicated to leading change for both current and future generations, especially as a woman of color in a competitive STEM field where she represents less than 10%. Her interests encompass modern technology, including artificial intelligence, advocating for the representation of women of color across industries, and making mental health more accessible for underrepresented communities. She aims to create opportunities in beauty and wellness while celebrating cultural diversity. Jasmine’s strengths include marketing, analytical and critical thinking, social media, public relations, data analytics, and expert research skills. Committed to challenging perspectives for optimal change, she seeks to innovate new approaches based on lived experiences.
